The Royal School of Church Music Chorister Training Program St. Luke’s Choirs are affiliated with The Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), founded in England by Sir Sydney Nicholson in 1927. The goal of the program is the development and maintenance of a unique parish choir ministry known for its musical excellence, artistry. Our Choristers have knowledge and commitment to the highest aspirations of the Christian community: TO KNOW CHRIST AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN.

St. Cecilia’s Choristers (age 4, by September 1, through grade 1) Becoming a St. Cecilia’s Chorister is the first step in a musical progression that will first lead them to becoming a St. Luke’s Chorister, but more importantly into a life of musical enjoyment and service to the Church.

St. Luke’s Choristers (Grades 2+) In the tradition of English churches, The St. Luke’s Choristers are a committed group singing at the 9.00 a.m. Sunday Eucharist. The children learn about the worship service and the seasons of the church year as they rehearse service music, hymns, and anthems for the Sunday services according to the Royal School of Church Music scheme.

Both chorister groups rehearse on Wednesday, 6.00-6.45 p.m. Dinner is offered in the Parish Hall at 5.00 p.m. for families and Choristers before rehearsal. Only the St. Luke’s Choristers sing on Sundays, with rehearsal beginning at 8.15 a.m.
