Acolytes
Approximately fifty young people from grades five through twelve make up the St. Luke's Acolyte Guild. There are five teams with ten people on each team. Each team is headed by one or two Team Leaders. Team Leaders are responsible high-school age young people who have demonstrated their ability to carry out the duties of the team. In addition, there is an Adult Team Leader assigned to each team to assist the youth Team Leader and to help with organization on Sunday mornings, as well as help in training and planning community-building events.
Being an Acolyte requires dedication and responsibility. It is a privilege and honor to serve at God's Altar as an Acolyte. Any young person in grades five through twelve who thinks he or she might be called to this Ministry is encouraged to contact Acolyte Director Michael Mortensen, or Acolyte Master Nancy Hawkins.
